Airports
When traveling by air to reach the Martinique New York on Broadway hotel, or The New Yorker, there are three major airports serving the New York metropolitan area. The two closest airports to consider are LaGuardia Airport and John F. Kennedy International (JFK) Airport.

• LaGuardia Airport is approximately a 22-minute drive (8 miles) to the Martinique New York hotel.
• John F. Kennedy International Airport is approximately a 32-minute drive (15 miles) to the Martinique New York hotel.

Ground Transportation
Travelers have several convenient ground transportation options to travel from those three airports to the Martinique hotel, including taxicabs; rideshare services, such as Uber and Lyft (which are readily available at the designated pickup points outside each terminal); and rail service.

Taxicabs
The cost for a taxicab from LaGuardia Airport can range from $34 to $44, depending on the time of day and on traffic conditions. Additional surcharges may apply to the trip. Important information when taking a taxicab from LaGuardia Airport is provided below:

• There is a $1.00 peak-time surcharge for trips from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on weekdays.
• There is a $.50 surcharge for trips from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. daily. There is also a New York State tax of $.50 added to trips within the state.
• One fare pays for all passengers to one destination. A total of four passengers (five in minivans) is the limit for New York City taxicabs.
• The meter must read $3.00 at the start of the trip.

Taxicabs at JFK Airport charge a flat fare of $70 for trips between the airport and Manhattan, and they impose a $5.00 surcharge during peak hours (4:00-8:00 p.m. weekdays, excluding holidays), for a fare of $75.00.

Rail Service
The Martinique New York hotel is also accessible by train, with Penn Station only two blocks away (a 3-minute walk). Penn Station is one of New York City’s major transportation hubs, serving as a central point for both commuter and long-distance rail services.

Amtrak is the national rail service provider that operates trains to and from Penn Station, connecting New York City with various destinations across the United States. The Northeast Corridor connects New York City with such cities as Boston, Philadelphia, and Washington, D.C. Amtrak offers both regional and long-distance rail service with comfortable and convenient travel options.
